Pinealon
Cognitive & Nootropicaka EDR · EDR tripeptide · Glu-Asp-Arg
Overview
Pinealon is the EDR tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg), a Khavinson-school neuroregulatory bioregulator. Russian references list it as a dietary supplement rather than a prescription medicinal product, and it has no FDA or EMA drug approval.
Mechanism
Pinealon's mechanism remains noncanonical and incompletely validated. Rather than acting through a single well-characterized receptor, the literature describes interaction with DNA and modulation of gene expression and protein synthesis. A primary cell study reported suppression of ROS overproduction, delayed ERK1/2 activation, and cell-cycle effects accompanying improved cell viability. Animal work reports neuroprotection in prenatal hyperhomocysteinemia models with improved offspring cognitive function. The signals are biologically plausible but do not constitute a validated target-engagement framework by mainstream drug-development standards.
