Matrixyl
Skin & Hairaka Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 · Pal-KTTKS · Palmitoyl pentapeptide-3 (older INCI)
Overview
In this report, Matrixyl refers to palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 — the original Matrixyl active. It is a synthetic signal peptide (matrikine) developed for anti-wrinkle cosmetics. Matrixyl 3000 is a different commercial complex built around palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, which this catalog covers separately under Pal-GHK.
Mechanism
Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 is linked to extracellular-matrix signaling. Reviews describe it as related to fragments of procollagen I and report stimulation of ECM components such as collagen, elastin, fibronectin, and glycosaminoglycans. In the classic clinical study, topical palmitoyl pentapeptide improved photoaged facial skin and was well tolerated against placebo control.
