Pal-GHK
Skin & Hairaka Palmitoyl tripeptide-1 · Palmitoyl oligopeptide · Pal-Gly-His-Lys
Overview
Pal-GHK is palmitoyl tripeptide-1 — historically also called palmitoyl oligopeptide. It is a GHK-based signal peptide used in cosmetics and is one of the peptide components associated with Matrixyl 3000-style formulations.
Mechanism
Pal-GHK is treated as a signal peptide or matrikine-mimetic that can support extracellular-matrix renewal. Reviews describe it as a collagen-signaling peptide; the palmitoyl group improves cutaneous affinity, supporting topical use for wrinkle reduction and dermal-repair signaling. The main limitation is that clinical data are usually combination-formulation data rather than isolated monotherapy studies — eye-cream and facial-cream trials containing palmitoyl peptide combinations have reported improvements in wrinkles, firmness, hydration, elasticity, and collagen-density-related measures.
